Happy 30th Birthday to my wonderful husband AJ! I love you! It was not the year we were expecting, but it was my favorite yet!

January 6th, 2021 Mixed Media 16”x27” 2021 Processing the insurrection on January 6th, 2021, I began making marks as I thought about the day. The gallows in front of the Capital Building was one of the most sickening images, and quickly appeared in the piece. In order to drive home the surrealism of the day, the crowd is represented with amorphous Copic ink and Epsom salt patterns on Yupo in the bottom of the piece. The hanging found objects were used to transfer rust onto the top section. There are five hanging pieces to represent the five lives lost. As I reflected on the insurrection, I thought about how this event would have been perceived if people of color were holding it, and how many more lives would have been lost. As viewers look at this piece, I want them to see themselves in the mirror, and reflect on how they would have been treated. #macyartgallery #tcarted #teacherscollegealumni

Yesterday I started my brand new Facebook Page for my brand new company Wine Cellar Jewelry. Its is a great place to get updates on what is happening with Wine Cellar Jewelry.

I have been spending my time applying for craft shows, making jewelry, and trying to make a cohesive social media, set up an online shop, so stay tuned for where to buy.

Old Bottles

I found some old bottles in the garage that my parents bought on their honeymoon. They look great with my new chokers hanging off them. And I think the opening at the top will make a great place to hang some earrings.

Starting Fresh

As the school year is beginning for many, this is the first time that I am not going back to school. I am not in beautiful Savannah walking to class under the hauntingly elegant Spanish Moss. Instead I am impatiently waiting for the leaves to change and to see my first New York autumn in four years. 

People say that after graduating from college it's a fresh start, a time where your whole life is ahead of you . After a summer of taking  a break from creating art, I realized that I truly need to be constantly creating. Through this realization came the idea that it is time to start my own business. It is time to take that degree in Jewelry and make something out of it. So here it goes. 

The past few weeks I have been designing logos, figuring out how to apply to craft shows, ordering business cards, and most of all making jewelry. 

There it is my brand new logo! I couldn't be more excited about this new adventure. Stay tuned for the posting of my online shop and where you can purchase my work.
