This weekend as soon as I got out of Subbing I hopped on the train into the city to meet my friend Ashley at the Hampton Jitney and escaped to Southampton. We headed out East to visit our friend Morgan. Once we got there we spent our time driving through the beach towns along Montauk Highway, and stopping to hike, explore, and eat along the way.
LT Burger, Sag Harbor
We started the day at a fun little burger place called LT Burger in Sag Harbor. They have fantastic milkshakes and some awesome decor! From the menu written on the subway tiles to the cheerful orange chairs, it was definitely a fun place for brunch.
We walked along the Harbor and all the docks were dusted with snow.
Ashley and Morgan walking through Sag Harbor
Ashley and Morgan swinging away at the end of the world.
We made our way to The End, Montauk Point and hung out for a bit on the swing looking out at the ocean.
Ashley walking through Camp Hero
From Montauk Point we continued to Camp Hero State Park and explored the old Air Force Station. The views of the cliffs were incredible, especially with the snow clinging to the branches and the sand.
Heading down to the Beach
A Little Abandoned Cabin
We explored this little cabin, it was full of graffiti and rust. It must had been vacant for over 30 years.
Snow Covered Rocks
We headed down to the beach and the views were simply spectacular.
The Clifs
Heading back to the car and we left at the perfect time. The trip home took us right into the sunset.
Montauk Highway
On our way to East Hampton the trees were still covered in snow and the sun set beautiful behind it.
Montauk Highway and the Clam Bar
It was a great day with some great friends. We all needed a little time together to get out of our heads, out of the city, and out to celebrate our Lovely Morgan moving to California! It was fun because we got to practice her driving, catch up and relax. It was Ashley's first time out there and it was great to be able to show her around. It was refreshing to get out and have an adventure for the weekend between substituting.
